JKU medSPACE

The JKU medSPACE is a lecture hall, laboratory, forum, and a stage all rolled into one, giving professors access to a unique new way of teaching medicine. The JKU medSPACE is a future-oriented technological space designed to teach and experience medicine in an extraordinary way. Rather than viewing CT or MRI scans on a monitor, students can better understand the subject area by viewing these scans as huge, three-dimensional images on a 14x7 meter-size screen and in 8K resolution..

The JKU medSPACE is paving the way toward studying medicine of the future in which a generation of leading physicians not only operate together using robots and making diagnoses with the help of AI systems, but also hold lectures and studies in virtual environments. The Johannes Kepler University Linz, Siemens Healthineers, and the Ars Electronica Futurelab are working together as part of an unparalelled, exemplary joint research effort.
